The general insurance company has finalised its Intermediated Insurance Australia (IIA) leadership team.
Insurance Group Australia (IAG) confirmed this week that Darren O’Connell will join as its executive general manager underwriting IIA from 1 February, moving across from Suncorp where he led the commercial and intermediated portfolio.
Meanwhile Christa Marjoribanks, who joined IAG as a consultant from PwC in early 2020, will take on the permanent role of executive general manager product pricing and governance, which she has served as acting EGM of since late last year.
IAG group executive IIA Jarrod Hill said the final appointments of the team is an important step to grow the intermediated Australia division and to meet its insurance profit target of $250 million by FY24.
“We are dedicated to continuing to provide our partners and brokers with the best possible products, services and support in line with our growth strategy, and I’m thrilled with the team we have in place to do this,” Mr Hill said.
“As we look ahead, we have clearly stated our plans to grow our top line premium and most importantly our bottom-line margin in the Intermediated Australia division.”
Mr Hill continued: “I am excited to welcome Darren to IAG and to congratulate Christa on her appointment. We have a lot to do, and I am excited about what we will achieve together to realise our plans for profitable growth.”
