Zurich Australia announces new ‘key’ appointments

The life insurer has confirmed two new appointments to its health services team.

Effective immediately, Dr William Monday has joined Zurich Australia as its chief medical officer and will be responsible for building an internal team of doctors to provide technical expertise across the business.

Prior to joining Zurich full-time, Dr Monday worked with the company as a private consultant, as well as other Australian life insurers.

Meanwhile, Stephanie Pierce has been appointed as Zurich’s new senior marketing and communications manager – health services. In this role, Ms Pierce will oversee Zurich’s marketing and communications health and wellbeing initiatives.

Previously, Ms Pierce headed up Zurich’s wellbeing app, LiveWell, as its senior product and propositions marketing manager.

Both Dr Monday and Ms Pierce will report to Zurich Life and Investment’s head of health services, Dr Sally Phillips, who welcomed the appointments.

“Bill and Stephanie join us to take on two very different and important positions, both of which will further strengthen our holistic approach to health and wellbeing across both Zurich and OnePath,” Dr Phillips said.

“At the core of life insurance is the health and wellbeing of our customers and members, and Bill and Stephanie will help us to deliver on our ambitions to provide flexible solutions and services that support their entire health journey through good and poor health, from taking out a policy, to underwriting and claims, and their path back to wellness.”
