The industry body has appointed two key wealth management and insurance executives to its board.
In a statement, the FSC said it had appointed Macquarie executive director and head of wealth management Sean West and Zurich chief executive of life and investments Justin Delaney as directors of its board.
The industry body said both appointees brought more than 20 years’ financial services industry experience to their roles, with Mr West joining Macquarie Group in 2011 and holding several senior positions in the bank’s wealth division over that time, as well as working in previous management positions at ANZ and St.George.
Meanwhile Mr Delaney had also worked at a senior level in Macquarie’s platform division, as well as chief operating officer at life insurer TAL.
FSC chairman David Bryant said the new board appointments would bring “an immense wealth of knowledge across all portfolio areas of the FSC”.
“Justin and Sean are welcome additions to the FSC Board, together bringing more than 45 years’ experience to the table,” Mr Bryant said.
“Their respective abilities and commitment to help grow and protect the long-term financial wellbeing of Australians will be valued on the FSC board, and we look forward to working with them.”
