MLC Life Insurance has appointed a former director at NSW Treasury to its ranks as it moves to boost its group insurance credentials.
Andrea Forbes has joined the life insurer as the executive lead for relationship management for its group insurance division.
She will be responsible for driving retention and deep engagement with existing and prospective clients, while contributing to the development of the life insurer’s growing group insurance business.
Ms Forbes was formerly a director of the commercial policy and risk team at NSW Treasury, and will report directly to MLC Life Insurance’s chief of group and retail partners, Sean McCormack.
Most recently, she led NSW Treasury’s commercial policy team delivering new policies on board governance and executive remuneration for the state’s commercial businesses such as TCorp and Sydney Water.
Ms Forbes was also the executive general manager for strategy, education and external relations at Sunsuper.
“Andrea is a highly respected leader in financial services and government sectors. Her experience will be an invaluable addition to the group insurance team as we continue to evolve to meet the needs of members, super funds and trustees,” Mr McCormack said.
Adrian Flores is a deputy editor at Momentum Media, focusing mainly on banking, wealth management and financial services. He has also written for Public Accountant, Accountants Daily and The CEO Magazine.
