MLC Life Insurance has announced several new appointments as part of an effort to boost its leadership in innovation and transformation.
Nish Chandran will join as MLC Life Insurance’s new chief information officer, managing the Sanagi program transitioning from NAB’s systems onto new infrastructure to operate as a standalone, independent life insurer, according to a statement.
Mr Chandran is currently the CIO and vice president of information technology at First Data for Australia and New Zealand.
Darren Klein will join as general manager of data and analytics, responsible for formulating the company’s strategy for data governance, analytics and data insights, and establishing a stronger data-driven culture for customers.
Further, Fleur Edgerton will join as general manager of sourcing and partnership, focusing on strengthening MLC Life Insurance’s commercial and supplier management functions.
“We are committed to leading the market in technology and innovation,” said MLC Life Insurance chief innovation and transformation officer Sarv Girn.
“Attracting talent like Nish and Darren, who have extensive experience in large scale transformation and data analytics, will further cement our leadership in these areas and deliver great experiences for customers.”
Ms Edgerton will join MLC Life Insurance in January next year, while Mr Chandran and Mr Klein will join in February 2019.
In October 2016, NAB sold 80 per cent of MLC’s life insurance business to Nippon Life.
