Viola Private Wealth welcomes NRL legend as brand ambassador

After representing Queensland in 22 State of Origin matches, NRL legend Cooper Cronk has switched teams, signing on as a brand ambassador for Sydney-based advice firm Viola Private Wealth.

Making his NRL debut in 2004 playing for Melbourne Storm, later joining the Sydney Roosters in 2018, Cronk went on to play 372 matches, ending his career on a high in 2019 as he took home his sixth premiership win.

Following his induction into the NRL Hall of Fame earlier this year, Cronk has now joined the newly minted specialist firm, Viola Private Wealth, as a brand ambassador, which he said will allow him to help people make better financial decisions.

“Success is about more than just what you achieve on the field – it’s also about having a trusting and knowledgeable network of people around you, sharing insights and experiences and providing the resources to making the most of the opportunities that exist,” Cronk said.

“I’m thrilled to work with the team at Viola Private Wealth, a firm that shares my passion for helping people maximise their potential and make astute financial decisions.”

He added: “Viola Private Wealth isn’t just about managing wealth, it’s about empowering clients to achieve their best. I’m excited to help bring this personalised, client-first approach to more people in my network.”

The firm’s founding partner and executive chair, Charlie Viola, said Cronk’s athletic career lends him crucial team building and interpersonal skills, making him a key player for the firm’s growth.

“Cooper embodies our core values – professionalism, leadership, and a drive to achieve excellence. His insights into building high-performing teams and his dedication to connecting his network with quality advice will add tremendous value to our team and clients,” Viola said.

Notably, the firm is no stranger to working with high calibre athletes, with former Australian cricketer Peter Nevill currently in its employ as a senior adviser providing “first-hand understanding of the challenges high performers face managing significant income over shorter career spans”.

The induction of Cronk comes less than three months after the firm’s official launch in late September following Viola, who was previously a partner and adviser at Pitcher Partners Sydney, acquiring key operational aspects of Pitcher Partners’ wealth management practice, allowing him to establish his own firm.

Specialising in providing tailored financial solutions for high-net-worth individuals and families with $3 million–$200 million in investable wealth, the firm now manages more than $2.5 billion in assets under management.
