The dealer group confirmed the appointment this week.
Phil Osborne was announced as Synchron’s new general manager, compliance effective from Tuesday (1 February), having already worked as a compliance consultant for the company since July last year.
“Phil has over 30 years’ experience in financial services and, having also previously managed financial planning practices and provided financial advice himself, has an exceptional understanding of the demands on financial advisers and the vital role they play in helping ordinary Australians take control of their financial affairs,” Synchron director Don Trapnell said.
After his beginnings in the financial advice industry with roles at AMP and Hillross Financial Services, Mr Osborne has held positions at companies that include Lifestyle Asset Management, SMSF Advisers Network, and InterPrac Financial Planning.
He will report to the Synchron board and lead a team that includes head of compliance – advice assurance, Alison Massey.
