Association makes senior hires from IOOF, AMP

An adviser association has made two new senior hires to its marketing and partnerships teams as it continues its search for a new chief executive.

In a statement, the AFA said it had appointed Candice Spence as general manager of marketing in April this year, while Cameron Burne had come onboard as general manager of partnerships in March.

Ms Spence was a previous head of marketing for IOOF who has been running her own communications consultancy for the past year, while Mr Burne was most recently a partnership manager at AMP Financial Planning.

We are delighted to be welcoming Candice and Cameron to the AFA team,” the association’s acting CEO Phil Anderson said.

“They are both highly skilled, seasoned professionals that join the AFA as we celebrate our 75th anniversary and build on our solid foundations.

“They will be integral to helping the AFA achieve its strategic objectives and mission to support our essential and valuable advice community.”

The news follows AFA CEO Phil Kewin stepping down in March after leading the association through a tough period of regulatory change.
