HNW practice appoints Adelaide team

A high-net-worth advice group has expanded into South Australia, recruiting a number of senior practitioners from the private banking and stockbroking space to lead its new Adelaide office.

In a statement, Crestone Wealth Management said it had appointed “an experienced and local team of investment professionals” to bolster its presence in the southern state, where the firm already had a strong client base.

“Our entrance into SA presents dual opportunity. Firstly, for HNW and UHNW individuals based in SA, Crestone can provide access to a broader set of global diversified investment opportunities than may currently be available to them,” Crestone chief executive Michael Chisholm said.

“Secondly, for local investment professionals or those looking to build a career in SA, Crestone’s unique employee-owned business model should prove attractive.”

The group had added five new advisers to its team in Adelaide, including former Morgans Financial South Australian general manager Kieran Purcell as Crestone’s new head of advisory for South Australia.

Former NAB senior private client manager Sonya Brocklehurst, ANZ private banker James McBride, former Westpac Private Bank South Australia associate director Nicholas Hamersley and Westpac Premier lending area manager Ida Wong Taylor had also joined the firm as investment advisers based in Adelaide, reporting to Mr Purcell.

“Our South Australian presence is an exciting growth opportunity and so it was crucial to hire a team with a depth of local experience, aligned to Crestone’s strong client-centric culture,” Mr Chisholm said.

“We believe it is a testament to our business model that Crestone can attract advisers of this calibre. Ultimately, this expansion supports our vision to be the first-choice advisory firm for wealthy individuals across Australia.”
