The listed dealer group has appointed a former manager of practice recruitment at MLC to cater to growing interest from advice firms in its offering.
In a statement, Centrepoint Alliance said it had appointed former MLC Wealth business growth manager Charles Smith to the role of national recruitment manager.
In his former role Mr Smith had been in charge of recruiting “quality self-employed financial advisers” to MLC licensees, Centrepoint said.
The group said Mr Smith had been in the industry “for several decades” and had “held many senior institutional positions, as well as executive and non-executive roles for major licensees”.
Centrepoint group executive of advice Paul Cullen said Mr Smith’s background would bolster the group’s ability to cater to growing inquiries from advice businesses.
“We are receiving a lot of interest from advice firms who want to explore their licensing options, and Charles brings the deep knowledge and experience required to assist businesses in making the right choice for their needs,” Mr Cullen said.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Smith said he was excited to join the dealer group, which was attracting significant interest from advice practices.
“Centrepoint Alliance continues to attract the attention of both licensed and self-licensed advisers and I am looking forward to contributing to the business’ continued growth,” Mr Smith said.
