MLC Life Insurance has appointed the former chief executive of AIA New Zealand, Natalie Cameron, as its new chief claims officer.
Ms Cameron will be reporting directly to MLC chief executive David Hackett as a member of MLC Life Insurance’s leadership team and will officially join the business on 10 July, according to a statement.
She initially joined AIA Australia in 2005 and was appointed general counsel and company secretary in 2007, and later spent three years as AIA Australia’s chief operating officer as well as 10 months as its chief group insurance officer, the statement said.
Ms Cameron will be tasked with accelerating the company’s claims transformation program, which includes a partnership with ClaimVantage to use its claim management software platform, ClaimFirst, to process its retail income protection and total and permanent disability claims.
Mr Hackett said Ms Cameron is a highly accomplished professional who joins MLC in a period of tremendous growth.
“Her experience in the industry is broad and deep. She will be joining our executive and claims team as we move ahead with our goal of becoming the leading and most trusted life insurer in Australia,” Mr Hackett said.
“I’m pleased that we are attracting such great talent to our business, and I warmly welcome her to MLC Life Insurance.”
